Located on the fifth floor of the Jim Green Residence, a social housing development in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, this mural was painted to express some of the forces that have displaced people from the area. The bearded figure is a tribute to Olaf Solheim, a long-time resident of a local hotel who died when threatened by eviction prior to Expo ’86. Other figures reflect the ethnic diversity of this part of the city.
